Mahindra and Mahindra had acquired a stake in Reva Electric earlier this year intending to enter the growing electric car market which is still in its nascent stage in India. The electric car model is now available at Mahindra dealers in Hyderabad to begin with. As the market grows, the company intends to make the car available at more showrooms across the country.
The model available at the showrooms in Hyderabad is the new Revai . It has a ‘regenerative braking’ system coupled to the driving wheels which produce electricity to store in the Lead-Acid batteries while slowing down or braking. It is eco-friendly, easy to drive and easy to manoeuvre around because it has no gears as well as no emissions and noise.
