The fourth-generation Renault Clio has undergone a mid-life upgrade after its launch back in 2012. This being a facelift, the overall body shell as well as the styling remains almost the same except for a few touches both inside and outside the car.

The Clio is offered with a variety of engine options. The diesel options include the 1.5-litre four cylinder dCi engine in the 90bhp and the 110bhp tunes with a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch automatic option. You can opt for petrol engines developing 75bhp, 90bhp or 120bhp with the manual transmission or the dual-clutch automatic. Six airbags, traction control, ABS with EBD and ESP are standard on the Clio giving it a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. The Clio RS is available with the 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol unit in two levels of tune, 200bhp and 220bhp, both mated to the dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The top of the two-part grille has been tweaked along with the logo while the lower part is wider and more prominent. The bumper creases make it look a bit more muscular while the headlamps now get full LED option with the signature DRLs being tweaked to retain uniqueness. The profile and the tail design has been carried over in the update.

The interior of the Clio has undergone more changes as compared to the outside. The texture of the dashboard and trim plastic has been altered and the usage of chrome is subtler. It gets a new steering wheel and gets ambient interior lighting. On higher trims, you can opt for the BOSE sound system that was previously offered only with the bigger Renaults. It gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone compatibility and satellite navigation. It also gets rear-view camera for parking assistance and an Eco mode to keep a tab on your driving style and suggest you ways to improve your fuel economy.
