Renault has launched the Triber in India, with prices starting at Rs 4.95 lakhs for the base RXE trim, all the way up to Rs 6.49 lakhs for the top-end RXT trim (all prices, ex-showroom, India).

Design wise, the new Renault Triber features projector headlamps, three slat grille with chrome highlights, LED DRLs, flared wheel arches, roof rails, wraparound tail lights and faux skid plates at the front and rear.

Inside, the Renault Triber comes equipped with an eight-inch MediaNav touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual front glove boxes, cooled lower glove box, smart access card and AC vents and 12V charging sockets for all three rows. The biggest highlight of the model is the three rows of seating, of which the last row can be removed in order to give access to a 625-litre boot.

Powering the sub four-metre, seven-seater Renault Triber is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, Energy petrol engine. This motor produces 72bhp and 96Nm of torque. Currently, the model is available only with a five-speed manual transmission although an AMT unit will be introduced later. Rivals to the Renault Triber include the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, Tata Tigor and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
