      Renault starts 2013 at a good note, records 455 per cent in January

      Renault India Private Limited (RIPL), the completely owned division of Renault S.A.S., has started the New Year at a good note as the domestic wholesale of the auto maker stood at 4,914 units during January 2013. With these figures, the French auto maker has reported a growth of 455 per cent, against the sales recorded in year-ago period.

      Among the total of 4,914 units, Duster compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) accounted for 3,554 units, 37 units of Koleos SUV, whereas Scala sedan found 812 buyers. The auto maker gave 403 deliveries of Pulse premium hatchback, while 108 new buyers got to drive executive sedan Fluence.

      Expressing his views on the sales performance, the Executive Director in Marketing and Sales, RIPL, Sumit Sawhney, was quoted as saying, “2012 was a year of growth for Renault India, with over 35,000 units sold across the nation as well as starting the export of the Duster. The New Year is now all set to see us continue this drive with strong domestic sales in January. The mounting number of awards we have won both as a company and for our products is also a reflection of the rising confidence among both customers and industry experts about Renault in India.”

      Besides impressive sales figures, the auto maker was also felicitated with a couple of awards. Renault India grabbed the titles of more than 25 industry awards, along with immense appreciation for its flagship Duster. It must be noted that off late Renault Duster has been termed as the Indian Car of the Year 2013.
