Renault has been a popular brand across the global markets. The X-Trail SUV from Nissan has been a global favorite in the SUV segment. For a while now news had been doing rounds that Renault may launch a new SUV as a replacement to Koleos that has not been generating huge sales numbers. As per sources the new model could make it to showrooms sometime next year.
The new Renault SUV is stated to be based on the CMF (Common Module Family) platform that also serves the X-Trail. While in terms of length, it could be slightly longer than the current Koleos. The new vehicle could be one among other interesting line-up options in the country. The vehicle could probably debut in Geneva motor show or the Paris Motor show that could be held in the second half of next year.
The new Renault SUV could be powered by a 2.0 liter petrol engine in manual and CVT options. Whereas, for the Indian market, it could come with a 1.6-litre diesel engine option that may generate about 128bhp with 320Nm of torque. Apart from manual, it could also be offered with an optional CVT. The vehicle would be offered with latest safety and entertainment system that would help it position itself a cut above the rest.
