Launch of Renault Duster all wheel drive variant seems to around the corner as the company has released the teaser video of the vehicle. The launch date has yet been kept under the wraps; however buzz has it that Renault could unleash Duster AWD by the end of this month. Expected to carry a price tag of Rs 13 lakh, the SUV will be pitted against Scorpio 4X4 and Tata Safari 4X4 in its segment. Inside the cabin, the SUV will get new upholstery with red stitching.
Some of the high end features expected to be offered on Duster 4WD includes cruise control, anti-slip regulation, hill start assist and electronic stability program. The four wheel drive system driven by HALDEX clutch and independent rear suspension sum up some of the major mechanical additions done on Duster AWD. Power will come from a1.5 litre K9K turbo diesel engine that dishes out top power output of 108 Bhp along with peak torque of 108 Nm. A six-speed manual gearbox will work in sync with the diesel powetrain to channelize power to all four wheels of the SUV.
AWD variant is claimed to be a tad frugal than the front wheel drive version, ARAI figures for the fuel efficiency test done on Duster AWD shows that it can run up to 19.72 kmpl which is around. 71 kmpl more than the front wheel drive variant. A large ground clearance of 205mm and turning radius of 5.2 meter enables the SUV to offer improved on road and off road ride quality.
