Mahindra & Mahindra, the largest utility vehicle maker in the Indian market, has renamed its entry level sedan Renault Logan as Verito. The Renault badge has now been replaced with Mahindra badge and emblem.

After parting ways from French car maker Renault in April Last year, M& M offered heavy discounts on the car, which resulted in increased sales of the car in the Indian market. While the monthly sales of the car were 300 units when it was a part of Renault-Mahindra joint venture, the company registered sales figures of more than 1000 units a month from January to March this year. In the month of January, February and March this year, the company managed to sell 1,120 units, 1,151 units and 1,018 of the car in India, respectively.

At present, the Mahindra Logan model is available in both diesel and petrol versions in the Indian market. While the petrol version of the car is available with a price tag of Rs 4.67 lakh, the diesel version carries a price tag of Rs 6.50 lakh. The major competitors of the car in the Indian market include the likes of Hyundai Accent, Ford Fiesta, Tata Indigo CS, Maruti Swift Dzire etc.

The new Verito model is expected to carry a few cosmetic changes, without any change in size of the car. However, the company is yet to disclose the pricing and feature details of the Verito model in the country.
