Renault, the French automaker, is all set to launch the much-awaited Lodgy MPV in the Indian car market. It will be priced above the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio, which currently are among the top-selling cars of the segment. Likely to go on sale next month, the bookings for the Lodgy MPV has already commenced for a token amount of Rs. 50,000.

The Lodgy MPV comes with a large 2810mm of wheelbase, which results into spacious cabin. With spacious interiors, the MPV will give tough fight to the likes of Toyota Innova and Nissan Evalia. The vehicle is equipped with a chrome bar grille that accommodates large Renault badge, complemented by sweptback headlamps, and new bumper. At the rear, the India-spec model will get new tail lamps and revised bumper. Coming to the interiors, the MPV looks identical to the Duster. Features like instrument cluster, infotainment system, steering wheel, air conditioning vents, etc, are directly lifted from the Duster SUV.

Under the bonnet is a 1.5-litre dCi engine that offers two states of tunes - 85PS and 110PS. While the 110PS motor is paired to a six-speed gearbox, the 85PS motor is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Lodgy MPV is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh.
