Renault Fluence, the popular premium sedan, is all set to mark its debut in the Indian market in early May 2011. The Fluence model is speculated to be launched in a price segment of Rs 11 to 13 lakh where it will be taking on the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic, Skoda Laura, Chevrolet Cruze and Volkswagen Jetta. The car is claimed to be one of the most fuel efficient cars in its segment.
Renault Fluence will be the first model in the Indian portfolio of French car maker Renault as currently there is no Renault car available in the Indian market. The car is expected to be launched in both diesel and petrol versions. While the diesel version of the car is expected to be powered by a 1.5L diesel engine, the petrol version will be carrying a 2.0-liter petrol engine. Moreover, the car will be offered in both manual and automatic transmission options. The powerful petrol engine of the Fluence is capable of delivering a peak power of 140bhp.
The launch of Renault Fluence will be followed by SUV (sports utility vehicle) Koleos, which will be launched in the country in the last quarter of this year.
