Bajaj Auto, one of the largest two-wheeler manufacturers in India, has re-launched its commuter bike CT 100 in order to create a stronghold and improve its market share in the 100 cc motorcycle segment. The Indian firm has launched the new trim with cosmetic changes, whereas on the technological front no major alterations have been made. As part of fresh upgrades the bike sports alloy wheels and new graphic colour schemes.

The new CT 100 trim is powered by 99.27 cc four stroke air cooled engine that generates a power output of about 8.1 BHP at 7500 RPM and a peak torque output of 7.8 Nm at 4500 RPM. Additionally, the bike is equipped with a new shock-in-shock suspension system, which is expected to improve its ride-ability.

Another new bike that has been launched by Bajaj Auto in a refreshed version is Platina, which is now fitted with an electric starter. Industry experts feel that the two launches by Bajaj Auto are likely to help the firm regain the lost ground in terms of market share. In recent times, sales of Bajaj Auto had gone down, thereby compelling the firm to make these launches. Dealers of Bajaj Auto across the country have started accepting bookings for Bajaj CT 100, which is offered at an ex-showroom price of INR 38,895 in Pune.
