Honda’s recently launched MPV in India Mobilio has failed to generate big sales numbers for Japanese carmaker in the country. In order to reclaim its lost share, the carmaker has been planning on introducing a mildly refreshed variant in India sometime later this year. The new Mobilio shall not receive any mechanical upgrades and the changes would be restricted to cosmetic upgrades.

The new Honda Mobilio is expected to shall be introduced in India post the BR-V launch in the country. The one introduced in the Indonesian market is expected to carry the same features to the Indian market as well. Speaking of changes, the new model gets newly designed alloy wheel and chrome highlights on the front bumper.

As for the interiors, the new Mobilio shall carry the dashboard from the upcoming Honda BR-V. The top-end Mobilio RS trim shall carry the all-Black theme, while the rest of the trim shall be offered in dual-tone shade. The touchscreen infotainment display gets more prominent positioning and acts as a display for rear-view camera. The air-con vents have been set high on the dashboard, while the instrument cluster features a new three-pod setup. As of now, the steering does not get any changes. The older knobs have been discarded and instead new sleeker buttons have been used.

The New Honda Mobilio shall continue to be powered by 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-Vtec engine that generates about 118bhp. Much like the Indonesian spec model, the new India bound model shall also be offered with an automatic transmission option. Given the current stiff competition in the Indian market, the Mobilio loaded with fresh upgrades shall likely help regain its lost share in the MPV segment. As for the pricing aspect, the new model is expected to get slightly pricier than the existing model.
