Scorpio SUV has been a hot local favorite coming from India’s largest UV maker, Mahindra and Mahindra. To mark this special relationship between the brand and consumer, Mahindra has launched a special edition of its popular SUV, Mahindra Scorpio. To keep it special in every regard, only 500 units of Mahindra Scorpio Special edition would be put out for sale.
The new limited edition of Scorpio is stated to be powered by 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine that generates about 120 Bhp of power with 290 Nm of torque output. The fairly powered engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission. On the exterior front major changes are not visible except for small graphic stickers here and there.
Interesting modifications have been made to the interiors. The cabin is adorned with beige and tan leather seat covers. Besides this an integrated roof-mounted DVD player with 9-inch screen ups the luxury quotient offered to the customers inside the cabin, ample leather work can be seen in the form of leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob which in-turn compliments impressive gloss wood finish center console. For safety, the SUV is loaded features like ABS (Anti lock braking system) airbags, EST (Extra Stability Technology) Suspension, Intellipark with sensors mated to the rear bumper that enables convenient reverse parking, light sensors and intelligent rain.
A similar initiative was taken back in October last year wherein a large lot of interested buyers flocked to get their hands on their beloved version. This time around too, the Special Edition of Scorpio SUV does not brag about any special modifications on the mechanical front, but promises to leave a special impression with interesting features on the inside. News has been doing rounds that the Indian car-maker may also launch the face-lifted version of Scorpio that has been spotted on a number of times undergoing tests in various locations across the country. As per source, the vehicle is expected be launched by festive season this year. The Special Edition Scorpio is launched at an interesting price tag of Rs. 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
