The tyre manufacturing company Ralson has appointed the Silver medallist Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar as brand ambassador for the next couple of years. An official statement of the company said, “Ralson Tyres has taken up the brand endorsement deal with wrestler Sushil Kumar for an undisclosed amount. This is in line with Ralson's aggressive growth plans for next few years.”

Besides Ralson Tyres, the Arjuna Award receiver endorses NECC, Eicher Tractors, Pepsi and Himani Fast Relief. This association between the two was followed by a proposal by a leading liquor brand, which offered Rs. 50 lacs to Kumar for appearing in the surrogate advertisement. However, he firmly refused and said, “I didn't want to be associated with a liquor brand in any form as it would send a wrong signal to the youth.”

At present, the Indian wresting wonder boy is the brand ambassador for Mountain Dew, Eicher Tractors and the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) in the country. Reportedly, the NECC endorsement earns an incredible sum of Rs. 1 crore ($ 189,000) every year for Sushil. The humble sportsman has pledged to donate a big fraction of his income from endorsement to the needy charitable organisations of the country.

The Arjuna award recipient has participated twice in the Olympics, where he procured two precious contributions to the medal tally for his motherland. Kumar secured a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic and a silver medal at the recently concluded 2012 London Olympics.
