Premier Ltd. has spread its wings by offering the RiO in a petrol variant, the vehicle which was earlier available only in the BS III compatible diesel engine. Moreover, the petrol engine of RiO is BS IV compatible and therefore, it is available across all the cities including the metros in the country.
The RiO petrol has been backed by immense strength of 1173 cc motor that produces 75.5 bhp of power and 103.9 Nm of torque. If specifications are taken into consideration, the petrol engine is expected to offer better speed owing to the power to weight ratio of RiO petrol being 69 bhp/tonne while that of RiO diesel is 55.7 bhp/tonne. As the power surpasses the weight of the vehicle, drivability will get a new high.
The RiO petrol vows to deliver a decent mileage of 15 kmpl while the RiO diesel claims to offer a mileage of 16 kmpl. Though, the disparity of fuel-efficiency is marginal, it does bring out an overall positive factor to the car. However, the running cost of RiO diesel is expected to be substantially lower at Rs. 2.75/km than the RiO petrol which counts to Rs. 4.45/km.
The RiO petrol is assembled with all the features available in the diesel version. The comfort quotient has been fully dealt with as manual AC with heater, front power windows, vanity mirror, adjustable front & rear head restraints, front door trim pockets, front seat back pocket (driver side) are a part of the car. In addition, cup holder, cigarette lighter, removable ash tray, remote fuel lid opener, tailgate opener key type and tinted glass make their way into the car.
The need of the driver has been given utmost importance by providing day-night inside rear view mirror, headlamp levelling device, internally adjustable ORVM, rear wiper including washer, rear window demister, rear fog lamp, tachometer, reverse gear indicator on instrument cluster in the car.
The safety aspect of the car has not been compromised with as ABS with EBD, 3-point ELR with pretensioners front seat belts, rear seat belts, high mounted stop lamp, rear doors child lock, keyless entry are being offered. In addition, side impact beams, energy absorb type steering column and brake assist are also included.
Important accessories like digital clock, CD player with AM/FM radio and 4 speakers add to the class of the new RiO petrol. Black coloured B-pillars, large combined tail lamp with side claddings increase the overall personality of the car.
The RiO has a long grill with a pair of dual-headlamps on either side. The exterior dual coloured theme gives the RiO a sporty look.
