German sports car maker Porsche is planning to increase its dealership network in India. It recently opened its new dealership in Hyderabad in upmarket area Jubilee Hill which is a state-of-art facility for customers in Andhra Pradesh to experience Porsche cars and its engineering.

Construction of this superbly located showroom started in late 2009. The facility offers 5,000 square feet of showroom space with four sales consultants being permanently available for visitor enquiries. Now completed, the site is home to the entire Porsche product range, including the latest arrival, the new Porsche Cayenne.

Porsche has plans to start centres in cities like Bangalore, Ahmadabad, Kochi, etc in order to grow in India. Mr James Bourne, Regional Manager, Porsche said, “The opening of Porsche centre here offers customers an opportunity to experience the wide range of models from the company's stable before they buy them out. These are early days, but we see the market for Porsche cars growing significantly in the next few years.

Porsche brings rich heritage along with its cars. About two-thirds of the cars sold in the last 60 years are still on the roads. This is something other car manufacturers would love to emulate. This also reflects the nature of Porsche car buyers.”

Porsche recorded sales of 94 units last year but has already sold 269 units from January to October 2010. Porsche is confident of selling more cars once more dealerships are in place.
