      Porsche, a shining brand from Germany has added a new star on its shoulder by unveiling the four-cylinder version of Macan SUV during the Beijing International Motor Show. As per sources, post the '968' days, this is the first vehicle from Porsche stable to be powered by a four-cylinder engine. Macan’s new variant comes with different badging, wheels and tail pipes which vary it from S and Turbo trims. The four pot variant of Macan will first be launched in Chinese auto market followed by other markets. The German car-maker Porsche has not spoken much on the pricing aspect, but it is anticipated that the vehicle may be launched in India for a price tag of about Rs. 70 – 90 lakhs.

      As per sources, the Indian version of Porsche Macan shall be available in Turbo and Diesel variants. The Turbo version is expected to be powered by 3.6-litre, six cylinder engine that generates about 400 Hp of power with about 550 Nm of torque. Another version, S diesel is powered by 3.0 Liter engine that capable of generating about 260 hp of power with 580 Nm of torque. The Turbo version is capable of attaining a top speed of about 266 kmph, moreover, the vehicle clocks about 0 - 100 kmph time at an impressive 4.8 seconds. The S diesel version is capable of attaining speeds of up-to 230 kmph and clocks about 0 – 100kmph in just about 6.3 seconds. Both the vehicles are expected to be launched with an all wheel drive drivetrain.

      Porsche also launched the Boxter and Cayman in GTS guise at the 2014 Beijing Automobile Exhibition. Both the vehicles have been fitted with modified engines tuned to yield enhanced power and torque output. Boxter GTS is equipped with a 3.4 litre mill that is good for 325 Bhp at 6,700 RPM and 370 Nm. Cayman GTS on the other hand is loaded with a 335 bhp motor that develops a peak torque of 380 Nm. Both the vehicles are mated to a seven-speed PDK transmission. Porsche is also offering Boxter and Cayman GTS versions with Porsche Active Safety management and Sports Chrono Package.
