Ultra luxury car manufacturer, Porsche has launched the Porsche 911 Targa in the Indian car market. The 911 Targa is available in two variants - 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S that are priced at Rs. 1.59 crore and Rs. 1.785 crore, respectively.

Though it shares styling with the original model introduced in 1965, the Porsche Targa lacks C-Pillar. Instead of the C-Pillar, the sportscar features a wraparound rear window. The sportscar has movable roof section above the front seats and the B-Pillar is replaced with a wide bar. The roof takes 19 seconds to open, and tuck away behind the rear seats. There are sensors at the rear scanning for obstacles at the back.

The Porsche Targa is available in two engine options, both of which are in all-wheel drive layouts. The Targa 4 is powered by a 3.4-litre six-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 350bhp and a peak torque of 390Nm. The more powerful Targa 4S gets a 3.8-litre six-cylinder motor that is capable of producing 400bhp of power and 440Nm of torque. Interestingly, the company is also offering an optional powerkit with the Targa 4S, which will increase the power output by 30bhp. Power is transmitted to all-wheels of the sportscar via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Targa 4 accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 4.8 seconds, while the 4S takes 4.4 seconds to reach 0-100kmph.
