The Indian arm of Porsche, the stylish German sports car maker, has found its 100th customer in the form of none other than popular actress Sridevi. Pegged as one of the most versatile Indian female actors, Sridevi was handed over the keys of her new Porsche Cayenne Diesel premium Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in a special ceremony organised by the German auto maker in Mumbai. The special ceremony was also presided by Porsche India's Director and Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor.
Expressing his delight at handing over the keys of a new Porsche Cayenne Diesel SUV to Sridevi and Boney kapoor, Anil Reddi, Director, Porsche India, said, "We are very proud to be celebrating a milestone in the short history of Porsche India by delivering the 100th vehicle to Sridevi. It shows us we are on the right track and the brand has a promising future in this country."
Buoyant after receiving the keys and visibly happy, Sridevi too expressed her delight and said, “I cannot wait to experience the full power of my Porsche Cayenne Diesel. For me, it is the perfect combination of luxury and sportiness."
The Porsche Cayenne is a premium SUV that possesses an extremely stylish appeal bundled with several state-of-the-art sporty attributes. Coming to under-the-hood specifications, the Porsche Cayenne diesel comes assimilated with a 3.0 litre, 2,967 cc, V6 diesel powertrain, which churns out a peak power and torque equation of 240 bhp and 550 Nm, respectively.
The ultra-modish SUV glides from standstill to top speed of 100 kmph in just 7.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 218 kmph. The engine assembly is mated to an eight speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission including an Auto Start / Stop function. At present, the Porsche Cayenne is available within a price bracket around Rs. 60 lacs in the country and competes against Audi Q7 and BMW X6.
