Piaggio launched the Porter 700 at a price of Rs 3.40 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. The Porter 700 is a new single cabin, flat-bed cargo vehicle from Piaggio.
On the exterior, the Porter 700 carries styling cues similar to the Piaggio family such as integrated head lamps in the body cladding. The cargo vehicle gets first-in-its-class features such as twin beam head lamps setup and the opposed wiper blades to enhance visibility. The new commercial vehicle is equipped with a 30sq-ft. bed to carry a payload of 700kgs. The Piaggio Porter 700 has ground clearance of 218mm and a turning radius of 3.7 metres.
The Porter 700 gets a single cylinder 652cc diesel engine to haul the cargo and produces 14.75bhp and 40Nm of torque. The vehicle gets a floor mounted gear shift lever which is mechanically linked to the five-speed synchromesh gearbox. Manufacturers claim a fuel efficiency figure of 26kmpl, that being said the Porter 700 also gets a 15 litre fuel tank. Adding to that the Porter 700 also has a 21 per cent gradeability. The Porter 700 is offered with a 2 year and 75,000kms warranty.
