Rumours are doing rounds in the car market in India that an internal decision to move Tata Nano out of Singur has been approved, reports NDTV. Tata Motors may have finally decided to leave West Bengal and intimation to the government is formally due.

Earlier West Bengal government had admitted mildly that there might actually be a possibility that Tata Motors may move out its operations from the state. "With each passing day the prospects of the project are getting bleaker," West Bengal Industry Minister Nirupam Sen says.  Today, the guards at the Singur plant were attacked amidst fresh protests. Sen also added that it was disappointing to see unreasonable demands from the Opposition that will provoke Tatas to take the final call.

      "Tata

Ratan Tata has already met Karnataka Chief Minister and a team from Tata Motors has visited two locations near Dharwad, Karnataka signalling strongly that Tata may relocate its Nano project to the state of Karnataka in South India. These two locations have been proposed to Tata Motors by the industries department of the state.

The state government is confident that Tatas will choose Dharwad as their destination to set up Nano plant in case they decide to relocate from Singur. As a good sign towards that, our officials along with the delegation have done a field visit last week,'' said Murugesh R Nirani, Large and Medium Industries Minister, Karnataka told reporters here on Monday.
