Paris Motor Show 2016 Mercedes showcases their concept called the Generation EQ

This zero-emissions SUV that looks exceedingly like the current GLC, is powered by two electric motors that are installed on both axles to let out a combined output of 402bhp and 700Nm of torque. Mercedes admitted that this is enough to get this concept to hit 100kmph from zero, in less than five seconds. Engineers opted for a floor-mounted battery pack which offers a range of 500km, and have also incorporated fast charging capabilities.

Meanwhile, the concealed windscreen wipers, side cameras in place of conventional mirrors, and the absence of door handles highlight the streamlined appearance of this concept. Also seen are huge 21-inch wheels, and a paint shade called ‘alubeam silver’ which will be unique to their all-electric models.

A wide 24-inch digital instrument cluster can be seen in the cabin along with a steering wheel that uses two OLED screens, and touch-sensitive screens will replace all buttons and knobs. Mercedes added that the images recorded by the rear view cameras will show up on a pair of screens which are mounted on the doors.
