NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) has forayed into the business of electric vehicle charging. The company has recent set up charging points in its premises in Noida and Delhi.

The state-owned power company plans to have more such EV charging points in its other offices and then roll out such services across the country. The government's focus has now changed to have 100 per cent electric vehicles by 2030. And in order to do this, the government plans to roll out a host of policy changes in the next few months that will support this big initiative.

NTPC is supporting the clean energy transportation by this new business. Other than curbing the rise in pollution, the government also wants to reduce the fuel import costs. Companies like Ola and Mahindra are working towards reducing the carbon footprints. Recently, these two companies kicked off their pilot project in Nagpur where they have an electric fleet of 200 public transportation vehicles. The company has setup around 50 charging points spread across the Orange city.
