The President and Chief Executive Officer of Nissan Motor India, Kenichiro Yomura was quoted as saying, “I am delighted to reveal both the name and the very first image of what will be a very important model for Nissan. You can see from the sketch that the Terrano has a bold and distinctive design that I am confident will appeal to our growing customer base in India, as will its driving performance and range of other features that will be revealed at a later date.”

Industry experts are of a strong belief that the new model from Nissan will be designed on the manufacturing platform of Renault Duster, which has been doing really good in numbers. Post launch, the Terrano SUV is expected to deliver a stiff competition to its sibling Duster, which has already gathered immense appreciation from the Indian buyers. Experts believe that It will be a really tough war between both the models of almost same design and features, present in the same market.

Also it is being said that Nissan's new model will come up as a refreshed guise of the Renault Duster, which has been in the market from quite a some time now and has not received any modifications since then. Launch of a new model under Nissan's moniker is expected to turn the tides in its favour as the auto maker has been performing not so well from some time in the Indian auto market.
