      Nissan's newly inaugurated Mumbai office to be hub for sales, marketing and dealer activities

      Nissan seems to be working in the right direction to expand its foothold in India; as the company has inaugurated Sales and Marketing Headquarters in Mumbai. The inauguration was done by Mr. Takashi Hata, Senior Vice President Nissan Motor Co., Ltd and Chairman of Nissan’s Africa, Middle East and India region. Located in the Equinox Business Park, Kurla (west), the new unit is built in a huge area of 1700 square foot. Nissan’s largest facility and main corporate headquarters is located in Chennai, Mumbai office is the second largest unit of the Japanese auto firm in India after Chennai.

      A staff of 50 employees (handpicked from Nissan’s current 200 skilled staff) will be working at the newly inaugurated Mumbai office, the team will manage sales, marketing and dealer activities for both Nissan and its low cost brand Datsun from the Mumbai office.

      Besides Chennai and Mumbai, Nissan India also has a regional office in the capital of India, New Delhi. The company plans on opening more regional offices in other metropolitan and emerging cities in coming time.

      Speaking at the occasion, Kenichiro Yomura, President – Nissan India Operations, said, “We have implemented significant improvements to our business structure in India. As a result, Nissan Motor India Private Ltd has assumed full responsibility for the sales, marketing and distribution of all Nissan and Datsun-branded vehicles and parts in India. The inauguration of our sales & marketing headquarters in Mumbai is a key step to help expand our reach and visibility to our customers in this very important growth market.”

      He added, “Our Chennai office will continue to be the nodal hub for Nissan Group operations in India as it is located close to our manufacturing and R&D centers. Mumbai is important for us from a business point of view offering us better reach to our pan-India stakeholders. We now plan to further increase our local footprint by setting up additional operations in strategic locations across India.”
