A camouflaged test vehicle based on the Nissan Navara pickup truck has been spotted testing. It is expected to be a seven-seater vehicle and will sport the boxy lines of the Navara and will be underpinned by the same ladder-on-frame chassis from the truck.
The pictures reveal a vehicle similar in size to the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport sporting the face of the Navara but with the a rear-end similar to that of the larger Pathfinder SUV.
The Navara-based SUV is expected to make use of the 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 188bhp and 450Nm of torque. It will also have a larger feature list and at least one two-wheel-drive variant.
This will be a D-segment SUV and will slot in below X-Trail. If and when this vehicle comes into production, it is expected to be a more rugged and possibly lower priced offering as compared to the X-Trail.
