Nissan Evalia, an upcoming Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV) in the Indian market, was recently spotted testing on the Bangalore-Mysore highway. Not covered in any camouflaging, the Nissan Evalia model was on its way to road test with covered badges. The company had showcased Evalia model at the Delhi International Auto Expo in the month of January 2012, where the company had hinted towards its early launch in India.
As per the market speculations, the recently spotted Evalia is likely to be the production version of the car, which is under final road testing in India. The MUV is expected to hit the Indian roads by August 2012.
Nissan Evalia is based on its sibling Nissan NV200 (seven seater vehicle), and will be competing with the likes of Toyota Innova, Tata Aria, Mahindra Xylo and Maruti’s upcoming Ertiga MUV.
The car is claimed to be spacious than any other vehicle available in this segment in India. Moreover, the vehicle is blessed with high ground clearance and higher position for driver, making it safer as compared to other vehicles. It is expected to come powered by a 1.5L DCi engine in the Indian market, and will possible be shelved in the price range of Rs 7 to 9 lakh.
