We reported earlier that Hyundai India will launch the Elantra facelift in 2015. Now, Korean media reports that Hyundai will showcase the next-generation Elantra sedan in 2015; however, nothing concrete on the same has been revealed by the carmaker. Currently, the 5th generation model of the sedan is available on sale; the sixth generation model is likely to get completely new exterior styling, features and mechanics.

The Hyundai Elantra made its debut in India in 2004, while the fifth generation model hit the market in 2012. Now, the current model is 3 years old and is set to get a mild makeover. The Elantra sedan is facing stiff competition from the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis and Volkswagen Jetta. The sixth-generation model is expected to come India in late 2016.

The latest generation of Hyundai cars feature the company’s 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design' philosophy, which offers more aggressive and appealing looks. The same design philosophy is offered on the new generation Elite i20, Santa Fe, Genesis sedan and other few other Hyundai cars. Moreover, the company is also testing its vehicle at its new test facility at the Nurburgring in Germany to further enhance the overall drivability and handling of its upcoming cars. The next-generation Elantra is likely to get more elegant exterior styling with new mechanics. It is also expected to offer better driving experience alongside a more spacious and feature-rich cabin.
