The “Earth Dream” diesel technology in Honda City has already created a blizzard among the domestic buyers, since it was first premièred on 25th November, 2013. Experts and ardent followers had already put up a verdict back then that this new-generation car will be thrashing all records and prove to be a game changer in its segment. It was a remarkable achievement for the company as its car marvelled globally. With peering eyes, all heads are turning towards the new Honda City, which will be soon capturing all the space in company showrooms across the country.

Coming to the specifications, the 4th generation Honda City is incorporated with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which the outgoing old version carries. However, the diesel mill has been sourced from Honda Amaze, which is 1.5-litre iDTEC engine and produces the same power output of 98 bhp and peak torque of 200 Nm. Both the engines are melded with automatic and manual transmission options. As the Japanese car maker has not refined the diesel unit and straight away tapped it under the bonnet of its optimum sedan, experts are believing that it will be of interest to see how the new car capacitate it.

With eye catching new grille, elongated tail lights, sunroof in the top variant and refined interiors, new Honda City will captivate an onlooker and bind them completely in its awe-inspiring spell. To speak metaphorically, next-generation Honda City is the real amaze from Honda. The intellects of Honda, with their acute strategies, had already launched the iDTEC engine in Amaze, to contemplate how the new technology performs in the domestic market, before finally launching it in the eminent sedan. Amaze entered India early this year as an entry level sedan and auto aficionados were queued up in bookings for the same. The car saw umpteen demand at dealerships and the company had to procure a waiting period for the final delivery.

Experts are of a view that apparently, the same circumstances will be recurring again as soon as the 4th generation City is up for sale. Interestingly, the iconic sedan is envisioned to inflate the profit rate of Honda to the utmost level. Before leaping into any conclusion, it must be noted that stiff competition awaits the new generation sedan, as the likes of Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento are currently the monarchs of mid-size sedan segment. All these rivals have witnessed admiring sale figures and sources are expecting that the next generation Honda City to vanquish its adversaries and be the indisputable leader of its segment.

Compulsive rumours are that fuel economy section of this revamped sedan will be its highlight. Honda claims that the diesel engine of this car will be the most efficient in terms of mileage, with a noted figure of 26 kmpl. The numbers are compelling and the car itself is noteworthy, but the outcome will be decided by the customers only. So lets hope for the best as Honda plans to welcome the next calender with a bang.
