As per a report, Volkswagen’s new-generation platform will even have an SUV on it. The new-generation Polo will be based on the MQB A0 platform, while the current one is made on the PQ25. This new platform is a lot more flexible and even India will be getting this same platform for the new Polo. For India it will be highly localised and the German brand is looking at making multiple products on it.
The new Polo based SUV will have the same wheelbase as the Polo but it will have a lot more dynamic design. One will be able to recognise this SUV from the similar grille but the design shall be a lot more appealing. The sixth-generation Polo will be launched in 2018 and this SUV will be launched after the Polo is launched. The new Polo will be coming with a 1.0-litre three cylinder TSI engine that will be even making its way into India. This new Polo will be coming with this engine to India as well. This engine will produce about 108bhp of power and will come with a range of manual and automatic transmissions.
The Polo SUV will be coming with an option of all-wheel drive and there will even be an electric/plug in hybrid version as well. For India too, this SUV will be making its way. This will be with high level of localisation for all the new products, and this will increase the exports too.
