      Next-gen Mercedes C-Class might come to Auto Expo 2014

      Mercedes-Benz, the renowned German auto-maker, has unveiled the C-Class saloon at the Detroit Motor Show recently and the rumor mill is abuzz that it will be making its Indian debut at the Indian Auto Expo 2014. The next-generation C-Class saloon pays a lot of resemblance to the company's existing S-Class, right from the exterior appearance to the roofline, and moreover it is a clear indication that Mercedes-Benz is willing to place it above the CLA Class in India.

      Several modifications have occurred in the dimensions of the C-Class such as the enhancement in length, width and wheelbase by 95mm, 40mm and 95mm, respectively. Despite all the extensions, the most astonishing fact is that it weighs almost 100 kgs lesser, owing to the light weight material incorporated in it. There is no scarcity of choice as the company has offered it with three different engine options. Mercedes-Benz has presented the C-Class with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, 2.0-litre petrol and 2.1-litre turbocharged diesel.

      In terms of safety, the C-Class carries several top-grade features such as Attention Assist, Adaptive Brake Assist and Collision Prevention Assist, ABS, EBD and many more. Additionally, the new C-Class has taken several features from the S-Class and E-Class like Steering Assist, Brake Assist System, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Parking Assist, a 360 degree camera, Traffic Sign Assist with Wrong Way Alert and Adaptive High Beam Assist Plus. The new generation C-Class will also feature a optional air-suspension for the first time with four modes - Comfort, Eco, Sport and Sport+
