The Beat hatchback from Chevrolet has been a popular name in the hatchback segment in India. The Beat hatchback, also known as Spark internationally has been showcased in all new Avatar in the ongoing 2015 Dubai Motor Show. The one showcased appears to be sleeker and carries a modern age styling.
Internationally, the Chevrolet Spark is likely to be powered by 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that may generate about 98bhp and may be offered in 5-speed manual and CVT options. However, in India Chevrolet may introduce a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine in both petrol and diesel options. In terms of dimensions, the wheelbase has been increased by 100mm while the vehicle is now lower by about 40mm from the older generation.
In terms of design, the next-gen Beat gets new headlamps, redesigned bumper that compliment fog lamp enclosure and a new grill that blends neatly with the new bonnet design. The hatchback also gets redesigned ORVMs and new set of Alloy wheels. Inside, the next-gen Beat gets a new black dashboard, new multifunction steering wheel and a redesigned instrument cluster. In terms of safety, it gets dual front airbags, whereas for convenience and entertainment needs it gets 7-inch colour touch screen and Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system.
