Ahead of its official launch in 2017, the second generation Audi Q5 has been spotted on test in Mumbai. The German automaker has been testing the vehicle around the world and this time has been spotted in India for testing on local conditions. As seen in images, along with fresh cosmetic upgrades, the new generation model is also expected to get mechanical upgrades. The vehicle will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options.

      Audi Q5 test mule front

The Audi Q5 test mule which was spotted in Europe featured chrome lining on the glass area and body wide chrome strip. The one spotted in India has been camouflaged on the front and rear section thereby indicating the possibility of a body wide chrome strip being offered. However, the chrome lining on the glass area seems to be clearly missing on this particular test mule. The front section is expected to feature one of Audi’s modern grille design and projector headlamps. As for the rear, it will get new sharp C-shaped LED taillights.

The second generation Audi Q5 is expected to offer improved interior spacing for occupants and improved upholstery for a newer feel. The vehicle will come loaded with all modern safety features and is expected to compete against the likes of the BMW X3, Jaguar F-Pace and the Mercedes-Benz GLE. Its India launch is expected in a few months post its international debut.
