The engine is capable of producing a top power output of 370bhp and a peak torque of 42.72kgm. The company claims that the Boxster is around 100kg lighter than the GTS. The vehicle accelerates to 100kmph from zero in mere 4.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 290kmph. On the other hand, the GTS does 0-100kmph in mere 5.0 seconds and hits a top speed of 281kmph.

The new Spyder gets updated brakes from the 911 Carrera, and a sports suspension. It sits 20mm lower than other Boxster siblings. In order to shed some weight, the company has removed sat navigation and air con vents. However, buyer can add these features by spending some extra money. The Boxster Spyder also gets new roof, with the lightweight fabric roof is opened or closed manually; however, it is released electrically to ease up the process. The front and rear end styling looks inspired from the Cayman GT4.

Inside the cabin, the Boxster Spyder has new lightweight seats and new steering wheel, which is specifically designed for Spyder. The new Boxster Spyder will be launched in the international markets in July and will be positioned above the GTS range.
