As 2011 begins to fade away, car makers operating in India have made concrete plans to welcome the New Year with their latest productions and blanket the initial months of 2012 with excitement and expectations. The list of car companies is long, with each and every maker striving to strike the right chord and click with the eagerly awaiting buyers as never before. India's leading car maker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, is broadening its vision by overlooking the compact car segment and tapping other potential car types.

The auto maker will put on display, a series of utility vehicles and sedans, following poor sales performance in the volume segment. A classy version of Maruti 800, new Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire and sports utility vehicle Maruti Ertiga are prepared to set the pulse racing at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. Banking on SUVs during the event, Maruti strives to strengthen its grip in the SUV segment by subjugating significant market share.

On the other hand, Hyundai Motor India Limited that stands second in the Indian market is planning to come up with sports concept Veloster and another small-size SUV. The Korean car giant would make the best possible efforts to carve a niche in the SUV segment after the lukewarm response that came Hyundai Tucson's way. Speculations are rife that the auto maker has given rise to the model in respect to the excise duty slab that eventually prompted the company to shorten its dimensions.

Tata Motors Limited that leads the race of creative auto makers in India will join the bandwagon with latest sedan range geared up to unwrap at the mega event. In addition, Nano Diesel will be a major source of delight for visitors at the Auto Expo 2012. The diesel-engined version of 'World's Cheapest Car' will take the legacy forward by placing itself at the bottom most position in terms of price. The potential buyers will have a huge reason to rejoice, as Nano Diesel hits the roads amidst burdening policies taking a toll on their sentiments.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited will bring out the hybrid model, Prius, for the visitors. Toyota Prius which leads the hybrid sales chart at global level, consolidates Toyota’s dedication towards environment-friendly automotive technologies.

The two-wheeler segment has also been struggling against rising fuel prices, skyrocketing interest rates and poor state of economy in the country for a long time now. In view of the unfavourable trends, Yamaha is likely to showcase a variety of fuel-efficient scooters, while Bajaj Auto looks forward to reveal KTM motorcycles that would be India-oriented in every sense.

Focussing on the luxury car segment, widely acclaimed global players like Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Bugatti Lamborghini, Maserati and Porsche are expected to make their way to the event. The current leaders of premium car segment that comprise Audi India, Mercedes-Benz India and BMW India Private Limited, would use the platform for showcasing their sedans and SUVs, meant for the high class group.

Thus, the Indian buyers would get access to plethora of car options as they enter the year 2012 and look forward to change their present situation in a big way.
