      New Yamaha Ray launched in India at Rs 46,000

      Yamaha Ray, the much awaited scooter which the company has been promoting as the scooter for women, has been launched at the price tag of Rs 46,000 ex-showroom Delhi. With the launch of the new Ray, the company is hopeful of achieving a market share of 20 percent in the segment of scooters, over the period of next four years.

      The company has signed Bollywood actress Deepika Padukon as their brand ambassador for selling their scooter range. Powered by an 113cc engine, the fuel efficient Yamaha Ray offers a mileage of 45 km per liter. The new Ray will be competing with the likes of Honda Activa, Suzuki Access and Mahindra Duro.

      The new Yamaha Ray will be produced at the company’s Surajpur plant in Uttar Pradesh, which has a total annual capacity of 6 lakh units. In a bid to promote this new vehicle, the company has launched new 'Guess and Win Contest' and the first 1000 buyers will be getting special Yamaha branded merchandise.
