Swedish luxury carmaker, Volvo had unveiled the all-new Volvo XC90 SUV at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The new XC90 is claimed to be the safest, most economical and luxurious SUV in its league. Already on sale in select international markets, the vehicle will be launched in the Indian car market in the second half of 2015.
The XC90 gets Volvo's new design philosophy, sharing styling cues with Coupe concept. The front features a prominent chrome trimmed grille, flanked by T-shaped LED daytime running lights. The strong shoulder line stretched all the way to the narrowed rear lights. Based on the company's new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), the new SUV gets flared wheel arches that have been fitted to eight-spoke, 21-inch ‘Inscription’ alloy wheels. This platform is lighter, stronger and safer, and it allows maker to offer spacious cabin.
Inside, the new Volvo XC90 SUV has new centrally mounted touchscreen, media and telephone. Also on offer is a new cloud-based navigation system, woods and leather trims with handcrafted highlights, etc.
The new Volvo XC90 gets new, efficient petrol & diesel engines. The entire range will be 2.0-litre 4-cylinder units and comes under the company's new Drive-E family. The T6 petrol is available in both turbo and super-charged form and produces 316bhp, while the D5 diesel motor is twin-turbocharged that is good for 222bhp. Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
