It was just yesterday when sources had leaked brochure of the new Beetle ahead of its official launch. As a fresh update today, Volkswagen dealers in India have started accepting bookings for the new model. The company has not revealed the actual cost yet, but it is anticipated to be priced around Rs 35 Lakh (Ex-showroom) as it has been brought in via the CBU route.
The new Volkswagen Beetle shall be offered with 1.4-litre TSi engine infused 7-speed DSG dual clutch transmission to generate a powerful 148bhp. As for safety and control, the vehicle would be loaded with features like 4 disc brakes, central locking, hill hold control, ESC and 6 airbags. The new model would also get panoramic sunroof, Composition Media" with 8 speakers with USB Bluetooth and AUX-in as standard. For convenience, the vehicle gets keyless entry and start/stop button, auto-dimming IRVM, auto headlamp and wipers, and dual zone climate control.
The seats and the steering wheel comes leather wrapped for a premium feel. The new Beetle would be offered in interesting shades of Tornado Red, Habanero Orange, Blue Silk and Oryx White. On the outside, the new Beetle gets 16-inch Whirl alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlamps with DRLs, and static cornering lights on front fog lamps. Apart from these, the vehicle also gets electronically folding mirrors.
