The new car from Tata, named Bolt, was finally launched on 22nd January. Just a few hours before the event, the car was discovered with a sporty body kit. Although the enthusiasts of the industry have studied this car up and down, the general public is not much aware of it. It was spotted at a showroom in Mangalore, where the car had the same sporty looks and the sporty body kit as it did during the revealing at the Delhi Expo in 2014.

Tata had first revealed the Bolt at the Delhi Expo in 2014. Along with the Bolt, came the Zest, which did win many hearts. The Bolt’s sports rendered version has a few extensions to the front and rear bumper. A new set of alloy wheels, along with a newly shaded seat upholstery add to the car's exteriors with a side skirt. Such a sporty look compliments the car well. While the Zest was also wearing a sporty body kit, it was shocking when the Bolt was the first one to provide the customers with the option.

The Bolt, like other Tata cars, would have a petrol as well as a diesel variant to it. Under the hood of the petrol variant, one can find a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine, offering a power of 90 PS with a torque of 140 NM. While, the diesel variant of the car comes with a 1.3-litre engine, churning a maximum power of 75 PS with a torque of 190 NM. Both of these variants will come with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox.

Tata’s Bolt is the second offering, after Zest, under the newly employed strategy. After the failure of Nano, the company found it really difficult to pick up its ruins and start running the idea mill again. While the Zest was a big success for Tata, the brand new Bolt would just have to fight it out with many cars in the same segment over there, primarily the Brio. Tata Bolt will also have the MapMyIndia GPS navigation system, along with ABS, dual airbags and the Corner Stability Control.

Tata Bolt is rumored to be priced around Rs. 4 lakhs, which makes it a tough competitor for the Brio. While Tata displayed both of its cars with the sporty body kit, only Bolt has been given the chance to let the consumers get a hands on it. But, if we follow what the company says, the kit for Zest is not that far away. It might just hit up the nearest showroom to you. Both, Zest and Bolt, are made keeping in mind Tata’s new ideology and thinking of the Indian market. One can get the Sporty Body Kit at the dealership itself, with a special price of only Rs. 36,000.
