Ssangyong Motors, a subsidiary of the largest Indian utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra, is all set to roll-out an upgraded version of its popular Sports Utility Vehicle Rexton in the global market. The company has planned-up to showcase a new Rexton at the forthcoming Busan Auto Show in Korea.

There will be a number of cosmetic changes in the new Ssangyong Rexton including newly designed head-lamps with LED-surrounds and LED fog-lamps, a wider chrome grille with a bigger Ssangyong logo, new aggressively designed front bumper, wing-mirrors incorporated with turn indicators, and new style wheel arches. At the rear end, the Ssangyong engineers have made minor changes including new tail lamps with LED bulbs. However, the upgrades at the interior front are yet to be revealed by the company.

Powered by a 2.7-litre in-line five-cylinder DOHC engine sourced from Mercedes Benz, the Ssangyong Rexton delivers a peak power of 165bhp. In India, Ssangyong’s parent M&M will roll-out both pre-facelift Rexton and Rexton II, expected by this year end, which will be followed by the new Rexton a few months later.
