      New Skoda Fabia

The new Skoda Fabia has been revealed with fresh set of cosmetic and feature updates. The updated Fabia is now based on Volkswagen group’s modular MQB-AO platform. The vehicle will be offered in three variant options – Active, Ambition, and Style. In addition to the standard model, the new Skoda Fabia will also be available in Combi, Monte Carlo, Combi Monte Carlo, Black Edition Combi Scoutline, Clever, and Combi Clever bodystyles.

The fourth-generation Skoda Fabia has grown in proportions. In terms of dimensions, the new Fabia has now grown by 11cm. The wheelbase is now longer by 94mm, thereby offering more space to the rear seat occupants. The company claims that the 380-litres of boot space is the largest in its segment.

The new Fabia gets copper-coloured and grey contrasting stitching upholstery. The new LED ambient lighting, in the Style variant, allows the driver to choose between white or red illumination on the dashboard, centre console and the front door handles. Additionally, the ambient lighting includes LED reading lights in the front and rear. The steering wheel has been redesigned for freshness and is available in leather and in a three-spoke sports style, with shift paddles for the DSG. For the first time, the vehicle offers a heated steering wheel and a heated windscreen. Moreover, the Fabia is offered with an optional digital instrument cluster, featuring a 10.25-inch digital display with different layouts to suit individual preferences. It is worth noting that the Fabia gets comfort features that were earlier limited to higher-tier vehicles.

The Skoda Fabia is offered in five engine options. This includes 1.0-litre, three-cylinder MPI EVO in two power tunes – 64bhp and 79bhp, and the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder TSI EVO engine in two power tunes - 94bhp and 109bhp. The 1.5 TSI four-cylinder engine is the new range-topping engine for the Fabia. The 148bhp engine gets the active cylinder technology (ACT), which reduces fuel consumption as well as CO2 emissions.
