Mitsubishi Motors has launched the new Montero model with an upgraded engine. Plans to launch a new variant were already underway since a long time and the new 2010 version of the car has been finally introduced, and it comes with better off-roading capabilities. The new Montero will have the same 3.2L diesel engine, but has been fine tuned to give an increased output of 144.9 bhp, where the older counterpart used to generate only 119 bhp. New Montero has a better torque also as the re-tuned engine will offer 45 kgm @ 2000 rpm.
The new model is BS IV compliant and comes with 5-speed automatic transmission option. There are several new additions like catalytic convertor and swirl control bulb. There are minor changes on the exteriors including re-designed bumpers for the rear and front. Interior features comprise equally touted amenities, such as: leather-wrapped steering wheel, air conditioning, 12-volt accessory outlets, passenger assist grips, cruise control, and more such features which had been standard for the international version of Montero. The car offers great manoeuvrability and is a reliable SUV for seating seven-sized people.
