Mahindra has introduced a new CNG variant of its entry level sedan model Logan in the Indian market. The variant is currently available in Mumbai and Delhi only. The CNG kit will be available in 1.4 GLE and GLX trim levels.

“With issues such as climate change and carbon footprint taking centre stage globally, eco-friendly transportation has become the need of the hour and hence the launch of a company approved CNG kit. It also reduces the running cost effectively. The Logan has witnessed a spurt in sales in the recent months, reflecting customer satisfaction with the product, especially the space offered & fuel efficiency,” said Arun Malhotra, Senior Vice President, Sales & Customer Care, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra.

The Logan CNG gives a consistent mileage of 15-20 kms per kg, thus costing the customer only Rs.1.62-2.26 per km, as against Rs.3.93 - 6.11/km on petrol. For the customer, this directly translates into a reduction of the running cost of the Logan by almost 60 per cent. The new CNG kits are made by Landi Renzo (Italy) and will be supplied and fitted by Logicon Alternate Fuels Pvt. Ltd. The company fitted kits come at an additional cost of Rs. 56,000. They are equipped with a 12 kg capacity cylinder, of which actual consumable gas that can be filled is 9.5 kg.

The company fitted kits for Mahindra Logan can be purchased exclusively in Mumbai and Delhi at an additional price of Rs. 56,000.
