New Hyundai i30 UK specifications announced

Hyundai has made it official that the new i30 will go on sale in the UK starting March this year. The highlight of this model is the raft of new safety equipment as standard. Hyundai, in fact, is offering lane departure warning, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and hill start assist on all models.

The entry-level i30 S trim is powered by a 1-litre 120bhp, 6 speed manual which offers 15-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, Bluetooth with steering wheel controls, electric front and rear windows and driver seat height adjustment. The SE trim meanwhile gets 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, 5-inch LCD touchscreen, rear parking assist system, rear view camera and leather steering wheel.

Mechanically, the 2017 i30 gets a new 1.4 T-GDi 140bhp engine which can be had with a 6 speed manual, or 7 speed DCT transmission. The i30 has played a significant part in Hyundai’s transformation over the past decade, with over 1.17 lakh units sold in the UK since the first-gen was launched in 2007.
