Hyundai is planning to introduce a new variant of its i10 model in the UK next year. The new model will be powered by 800cc 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The new engine is based on the Hyundai’s i10 Blue CNG concept which has a capacity to deliver an output of 97bhp and CO2 emission of 65 gm/km. Although the new model is ultimately meant for CNG concept, it will run on petrol as CNG is still not a popular choice in the UK.

The model is not yet finalized for an India launch. However, CNG is becoming an increasingly popular choice of the customers in India owing to its low carrying cost and better mileage. The ultra-low running cost of CNG car makes it a key driver for Hyundai to generate sales volume and to potentially make Hyundai i-10 Blue one of the largest selling cars of India.

Hyundai currently exports its models to European countries and is the largest car exporter from India. Hyundai motor India Limited is also India’s second largest car manufacturer. The company has also announced that it will bring the diesel variants of it i-series models to India.
