Honda will bring a new generation for the Accord on 14 July and ahead of the day, they have released a teaser sketch for the famous sedan. The car will be unveiled at an event in Detroit and will be revealed as the 10th generation for the sedan.

The teaser images, as expected, show that the new Accord will sport Honda’s latest grille design which we have seen on vehicles like the new Civic as well as the WR-V. We can also see a new design for the headlights which is now made up of individual LED lamps giving the car a unique face.

Our spy sleuths have snapped up the car being tested and despite the heavy camouflage on the test car, we can see that it will be wider and longer than the outgoing model.

However, one of the biggest changes expected to happen to the car will be that the legendary V6 motor that has been one of its defining points will be dropped in favour of a turbocharged four-cylinder mill. In an obvious nod to emission norms, the engine is expected to be a 2.0-litre unit with roughly the same output as the V6, but with more efficiency.
It is too early to talk about the Accord for India, but if it does come here then we are looking, once again, at a fully loaded hybrid model for the domestic market.
