Honda Cars India will launch the much-awaited new generation Jazz hatchback in the country. The company has already started production of the car at its Noida facility. It was announced that the new Jazz will be launched in the first quarter of 2015; however, the launch plans are now delayed. Now, the company will launch the new Jazz in June this year.

If media reports are to be believed, the company is planning to produce a ready supply of stock of the Jazz before introducing the car in the market. The company is, reportedly, planning to produce around 5,000 units of the car before launching it in the country.

Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the new Honda Jazz looks more matured and appealing than the previous model. The company expects that the new model will create some buzz in the market, which would result into increase in its sales. Moreover, the Jazz, for the first time, will come in both petrol and diesel fuel options.

The diesel version of the car will be powered by a highly fuel efficient 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor that is good for 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. Its petrol version will get the tried & tested 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that is good for 87bhp and 115Nm of torque. A five-speed manual gearbox would come as standard, whereas the petrol engine will also get five-speed automatic as an option. Few reports also suggest that the company is also planning to introduce the Jazz RS in the country, which will get a 1.5-litre i-VTEC with CVT and paddle shifters.
