New-generation Dodge Viper is likely to be introduced in 2020. This time around, the new model will be offered as a Coupe, while the original model was introduced as a roadster. The vehicle will be offered with a fresh set of mechanical and cosmetic upgrades. However, Dodge will retain the distinctive design for the new Viper and it will continue to be offered with a front-engine and rear-wheel-drive setup.

Reports further indicate that the company might collaborate with external suppliers such as Michigan-based Prefix Corporation. Dodge might reveal the sports coupe in production-ready form at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show. The new Viper will also mark the company’s 30th anniversary since the launch of the original model in 1989. Moreover, the new model will be lighter in weight than its predecessor.

Under the hood, the new-generation Viper will be powered by a V8 engine that is expected to generate around 542bhp of power and will be offered as a replacement to the existing 8.4-litre V-10 engine that generates 631bhp of power. More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come.
