Ford Brazil has pulled the wraps off Ka hatchback in two trim levels-SE and SEL. Price begins at 35,390 BRL equivalent to Rs 9.53 lakh and the high end version is priced at 39,990 BRL equivalent to Rs 10.77 lakh. Ford will bring Ka hatchback will be launched in India as new-generation Figo. Launch is expected to take place early next year in domestic market, Figo will be one of the first vehicles to be produced from Ford’s upcoming facility located in Sanand. Ford will commence production of new generation Figo effective April.
Features like electric power steering, air conditioning, electric windows in the front, central locking, knife-type key with remote controls, tilt adjustable steering column, sound system with bluetooth, USB and My Ford Dock are available as standard provisions on base trim SE. Additional features offered on top end version SEL include- 15-inch alloy wheels, alarm system, trip computer, driver’s seat height adjustment and electronic stability control.
Inside the cabin, similarities can be seen with new Fiesta, a new three spoke multifunction steering wheel has been equipped, other features that have been embedded inside includes a central screen and Ford’s SYNC multimedia system, silver inserts on centre console among others.
Under the hood is the new 1.0 litre, three cylinder, turbocharged engine that is capable of engendering a maximum power of 85 Bhp along with a top torque of 107 Nm. A five-speed manual gearbox is mated to the engine. The 1.0 litre engine can run on petrol as well as ethanol. Ford will induct 1.5 litre engine option in upcoming months.
