      New Ford Endeavour's testing begins in India

      Ford recently launched the new-generation Endeavour SUV in Thailand, and the Indian subsidiary of the American auto giant has imported few units of the SUV for research & development purpose. In fact, the company has started testing the new-gen model in India, as a test mule has been recently spotted testing. It will rival against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Hyundai Santa Fe and the SsangYong Rexton.

      First unveiled as a concept in 2013, the production-spec Ford Endeavour, also known as Everest, was unveiled at the 2015 Bangkok Motor Show. The vehicle is ready to launch in various markets including India, China, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The new model largely resembles the concept, but the aggressive creases and curves are toned down to make it road legal. It is equipped with a large hexagonal grille with extra chrome, LED daytime running lamps, aluminium front & rear scuff plates and chrome alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the SUV features an eight-inch touch-screen system for Ford's new SYNC2 infotainment system.

      The new-generation Ford Endeavour is equipped with advanced safety features including hill start assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot indicator, Electronic stability control, Ascent & descent control assist, ABS, traction control, airbags, etc.

      The new Ford Endeavour will be offered in two diesel fuel options - a 2.2-litre four-cylinder TDCI unit and a 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCI. The 2.2-litre unit is capable of producing 158.24bhp of power and 385Nm of torque. The powerful 3.2-litre Duratorq 5-cylinder diesel engine churns out 197.13bhp of power and 470Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmission will be on offer.
