The Germany based leading car maker Volkswagen has stated on Monday that it will roll-out the new editions of its Jetta and Passat models in the Indian market next year. Both of these cars are currently being imported to India from completely knocked-down (CKD) unit route.

Speaking to the reporters, Volkswagen Group's Head of Marketing and PR (Passenger Cars) Lutz Kothe said, "We will launch the new Jetta and new Passat in the Indian market in 2011. We have no plan to localize the Jetta or Passat, but we will continue to assemble them in India." However, the pricing details of both of these models are yet to be revealed in the country.

Meanwhile, the company is receiving an overwhelming response for both of its mass segment cars including starting range sedan Vento and compact hatchback Polo. Both of these cars are enjoying a waiting period of up to 3 months in the country. Volkswagen India sold over 26,000 units of its Polo and Vento model in the Indian market till Nov 2010.

Moreover, the company is aiming to reach the full production capacity 1,10,000 units per annum at its Chakan facility by the fall of next year. "We are gradually ramping-up production at our Chakan facility in Maharashtra to cater to the increasing demand," Mr. Kothe said.
